IT Support Specialist

Position Overview:
The IT Support Specialist provides support to the business in using applications and services and contributes to maintaining and operating our end user and onsite services. The Support Specialist IT will provide support either remotely (e.g. Service Desk, User Administration, User Requests) or locally (Time Critical Support, Desk Side Support).
Core Responsibilities:
  • Work within the guidelines and routines defined for the IT service
  • Work to ensure relevant KPI/PI’s goals are met for the IT service
  • Work with preventive maintenance and Pre-Check
  • Provide the end user the required support
  • Participate in the evaluation of the software upgrade
  • Provide information to end users in the event of operational disturbances
  • Act as action owner of assigned cases
  • Determine and assign correct priority on cases and act according to given instructions
  • Perform incident resolutions and request fulfillment
  • Contribute to the identification and escalation of IT problems
  • Utilize and contribute to Volvo’s Knowledge Management System
  • Support 2nd and 3rd line teams with problem identification and resolution
  • Assist Infrastructure and application operation Specialist when required
  • Take part in projects improving the identity management and security area
  • Ensure correct use of Volvo security policies and raise security concerns
  • Contribute to knowledge management and the documentation of errors and known workarounds
  • Contribute to discussions on methods to improve team efficiency and delivery quality
  • Attend training across most common Group IT and solutions
  • Collaboration and cooperation with HCL, vendors, end users and stakeholders
Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
Experience Required:
  • Ideally 3-7 years of related IT experience
  • Ideally 2-4 years of remote IT support experience
  • Candidate will be highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency
