Volvo Penta Process & IT is a global function responsible for P&IT planning and portfolio management, Process & IT Solution Management, Information Architecture and Enterprise architecture. The Process & IT function has an active role in developing and shaping the Volvo Penta business offering to meet current and future customer needs.
The Project Management Office within the Volvo Penta Processes & IT organization is looking for a project manager to help us build the foundation we need for the future.
Position Description
As a P&IT project manager you will manage one or several projects, from the pre-study phase through development and launch to our customers. You will work closely together with our product owners and lead the work to deliver according to the product roadmap. You are responsible for creating the project plan and securing the delivery of the agreed scope within time and budget, with a strong customer focus. Our projects are increasingly cross-functionally set-up, with multiple stakeholders involved and you will have to coordinate activities in many different areas of our business to meet your project objectives. As a member of our project management office, you are also expected to contribute to the evolution of our way of working. As we get more and more digital and agile we also need to evolve how we manage projects.
Who are you?
You have extensive project management experience, working in a global context. You are well familiar with both traditional project management techniques as well as agile methodologies. Having managed P&IT projects within the Volvo Group is an advantage for this position, but not a must. We value ideas and knowledge from other types of businesses than our own and it is a plus if you have worked with service or product development. You have strong analytical skills and an interest to build a deeper knowledge about our products and our customers. You are a team player with great communication and networking skills and your can-do attitude gets the work done.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of documented experience from working as a Project Manager in a global environment, using traditional or agile methodologies
  • Relevant experience from driving change management activities
  • Relevant experience from service or product development
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Academic degree on bachelor or master level in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology or other relevant area for this position
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, IPMA or equivalent)
