Who are we
Vehicle Project Office Purchasing (VPOP) is gathering all Vehicle project managers purchasing (PMP) in Europe. We are handling different kinds of projects including new technologies such as connectivity, vehicle automation and electro-mobility from early phase up to start of production. VPOP is in charge to secure purchasing deliveries of the Vehicle project portfolio in Europe, and to secure that purchasing requirements are safeguarded within the projects. We are also representing Purchasing in all cross-functional governances such as Project Management Teams, steering committees and decision bodies.
What is your Mission?
As Purchasing Manager Project Office Vehicle, you will lead a team of project managers purchasing (PMP) working on the Heavy Duty Vehicle range projects. You act as the owner of your project portfolio, from the budget phases up to the start of production. You are accountable to ensure the achievement of the purchasing targets in the project. You also drive and manage the interface between purchasing and the cross-functional project teams.
You are responsible for the development, leadership and engagement within your team as well as securing purchasing deliverables within your project portfolio. You drive the department activities towards wanted position and secure needed communication with your main stakeholders. Other main activities:
- Be a member in Project Office Vehicle Leadership team and in an active way contribute to the development of the department
- Represent purchasing in relevant projects governance (steering committees, Project Pulse, management support team)
- Secure set targets and KPI fulfillment for the Purchasing Project organization
- Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values
For this role, it is important that you have a strong leadership experience, and a good ability to manage stakeholders. You must be business driven and have good communication skills. - University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
- Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets
